C&IS MANAGER
Overview
​
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Control Systems Engineering
Registration: Professional Engineering registration is a must.
Experience: 5 plus years of relevant industrial experience preferred.
​
Experience managing an I&C department as an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, applying comprehensive understanding of the routine aspects of I&C engineering principles, concepts, industry standards, and their application to the industries and clients.

Responsibilities
​

Function as the Department Manager by providing direction and oversight for Department administrative tasks.

Ensure, at a high level, that the total expectations of the project deliverables are met, ensuring the quality expectations, schedules and budgets.

Provide department staff forecasting on a regular basis. Manage the department staff level to balance the number of resources with the amount of work.

Hire, recruit, and maintain (through training) skill sets required to execute our work.

Evaluation of employee performance and make recommendations for career advancement.

Monitor the quality of the work performed within the department and make design or corrective decisions as required.

Consults with Lead Engineers and Project Managers on technical problems and staffing requirements.

Assign department personnel to project teams and direct the work of those assigned as Lead Engineers.

Assist in project proposals by ascertaining scope, determining the required design budgets and when necessary, serve as an expert during proposal presentations.

Work with others as required to incorporate code and safety requirements into designs.

Maintain effective communications with department members, operations management and with clients.

Represent Electrical and I&C department in weekly office management meetings and monthly project review meetings.

Drive growth and continuous improvement within Operations.

Business development and marketing responsibilities in practice area.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Control Systems Engineering.

Active PE License is preferred.
-
Instrumentation and Control System experience is a must.

Experience using or familiarity with current design software (such as AutoCAD, SmartPlant, Revit, VISIO, Bluebeam; others) required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) required.

Must have experience in leading the design on a variety of projects of different sizes.

Must have the ability to travel as needed by project requirements.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.

Advanced knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications.
