PIPING STRESS ANALYSIS

Piping stress analysis is performed to ensure piping is routed and supported in a manner where there is no adverse affect on piping or connected equipment due to effects of thermal expansion/contraction or the loads resulting from weight, pressure, wind, seismic activity, shock, or foundation settlements, etc.

       Piping stress analysis determines:

  • Internal and external piping stresses

  • Support location loading (fx, fy, fz, mx, my, mz)

  • A system model that can be optimized including piping layout, equipment arrangement, vessel nozzle locations, and piping fittings and components (spring cans and expansion joints)
